In 1911 in a history of the Ukrainian culture was an outstanding event. The Kiev publishing house "Chas" began the edition of a series of colour cards with reproductions of illustrations to the Ukrainian national songs of the Odessa artist Amvrosiy Zhdakha (1855-1927). In total within three years were printed 28 miniatures executed in water colour with the texts and notes of popular songs.
