Within the
framework of planned events on execution of Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
from December 7, 2016 ¹ 954-ð “On approval of the plan of events to popularize the
state symbols of Ukraine, cultivation of respect for them in society" art events to
Day of State Flag of Ukraine (August 23) and Independence Day of Ukraine (August 24) took
place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
On August 18, 2017 a theme exhibition “Heraldry of
Kirovohrad region” was opened. Its exposition consisted of coloured posters with the
images of coats of arms and flags of Kirovohrad region, administrative center town of
Kropyvnytskyi and districts of the region. Authors are members of Regional Department of
Ukrainian Heraldry Union which is headed by Merited Architect of Ukraine, citizen of
honour of Kropyvnytskyi V.Ye.Kryvenko. Developed modern heraldic symbols of Kirovohrad
region are based on traditions and historical memory from Tripilliato Early Slavonic
culture, the customary law of the Zaporozhian forces and the ethnic peculiarities that
developed during the great resettlement of peoples of the time of the Russian and Soviet
empires, now reflect broad picture of shaping of our society and establish strength and
unity of Ukrainian political nation.
On August 21, 2017 a public lecture and video presentation
on topic “History of Ukrainian national symbols” was conducted. Leading researcher of
the museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine A.M.Nadezhdin told all the present about development
of state symbols of Ukraine – Coat of arms and Flag, provenance and interpretation of
meanings of trident and flag colours, and also about creative searches of artists in
graphic representation of these symbols, demonstrating as an example colour pictures of
signs of Ukrainian national symbols from scientific and historical sources and photos that
record socio-political events of the last years with the image of State Flag of Ukraine. |
