“Creative Work is a Sense of Life” to the 80th anniversary
from the museum collection “Modern Ukrainian Fine Art”

     A personal exhibition of works by the famous Ukrainian artist, Merited Artist of Ukraine Feliks Polonskyi “Creative Work is a Sense of Life” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the painter.
    Polonskyi Feliks Mykhailovych was born on January 1, 1941 in the village of Kmeliove, Mala Vyska district, the Kirovohrad Oblast. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1994).
    A laureate of the Regional Award named after Yurii Yanovskyi (1970) and the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “national tradition” (2007). Awarded with the badge of Honor of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine “For achievements in the development of culture and arts” (2004) and a Certificate of Kirovohrad Regional Council (2011).
    Graduated with honor from the Painting Department of Ivanovo Art College, Russia (1968), teachers in specialty: M.O.Yeliseikin, S.M.Troitskyi, I.D.Kalashnikov.
Worked as a designer in Kirovohrad division of Odesa industrial and advertisement plant (1962-1964) and Kirovohrad art and industrial workshops of the Art Fund of the Ukrainian SSR, since 1991 art and industrial plant of Kirovohrad organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1969-1994).
    A participant of the regional, all-Ukrainian, and international exhibitions – “Exhibition of Works of Kirovohrad Artists in Tolbukhino, Bulgaria” (1978), “Picturesque Ukraine” (1991-2019), “50th Anniversary of the tragedy in Babyn Yar” (1991), “Holodomor 33” (1993), “Sport in Fine Art” (1998), “60th Anniversary of the Union of Artists of Ukraine” (1998), “Autumn Display” (1993, 1994, 2000), “70th Anniversary of the Union of Artists of Ukraine” (2008), “Colorful Ukraine” (2013).
    Had numerous personal exhibitions displayed in the art institutions of the town of Kropyvnytskyi – Art Gallery (1993, 1999), the Regional Art Museum, now the Museum of Arts (2002, 2004, 2006, 2011, 2016, 2020), and the Gallery “Yelisavethrad” (2016), as well as abroad – in Wuppertal, Germany (1999). Personal vernissages of the artist took place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum within the art projects “Laureates of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after O.O.Osmerkin” (2014) and “In the Artist’s Studio” (2015).
    The works are kept in the Directorate of the Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Museum of Arts, and O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum in Kropyvnytskyi, private Ukrainian and foreign collections.
    In his work prefers a realistic manner of painting and the following art genres – landscape and portrait. Also, the artist has created many works in different graphic techniques – pencil, ink, pen, sgraffito, watercolors, gouache, as well as linocut. The works impress with the professionalism of creation and the depicted topics. The artist was also involved in the sphere of book graphics by illustrating works of classics of literature and writers from Kropyvnytslyi.
    The exposition of the jubilee exhibition consists of six paintings and graphic works of Merited Artist of Ukraine Feliks Polonskyi from the museum collection “Modern Ukrainian Fine Art” of different years, which the artist presented to the museum at the presentation of the personal exhibitions. Among them are portraits of famous poets Lesia Ukrainka and Volodymyr Maiakovskyi, landscapes of the Kirovohrad region, filled with love to the native land, as well as the graphic works including the one that brightly depicts the moment when the artists create in the studio.
    The exhibition is completed with the photographs of Merited Artist of Ukraine Feliks Polonskyi in the studio and at the vernissages from his personal archive and art events in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum – the awarding of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin (2007), presentation of the personal exhibitions of works “Lyrical Motifs of Feliks Polonskyi” within the art project “Laureates of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin” (2014) and “Graphic Worlds of Feliks Polonskyi” within the art project “In the Artist’s Studio” (2015).
