Contenders for the Award named after Pauchenko – 2017


   On April 28, 2017 an exhibition of works of contenders for Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in 2017 was opened in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The Award was founded by Kirovohrad Regional Council in 2002 on application of the regional centres of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, Ukrainian Heraldic Society and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
   This year competition will be held only in two nominations – “architecture” and “decorative and applied art". Different buildings of Kropyvnytskyi, constructed by the projects of the modern architects – members of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine were introduced in the nomination “architecture”. Among them – religious building (construction of Orthodox Church and improvement of the area of the park named after Kriuchkov on Leninhradska Str. (now Pavlo Snitsar Str.), design time – 2006, 2013, and construction time – 2013, the author of the project: Drofa Iryna Oleksiivna–chief architect of the project, chief architect of the projects for PE “ServisInvest”) and shopping and recreation centre “Depo’t center” (reconstruction of a shop of non-grocery goods with the construction of an additional building on 48, Velyka Perspektyvna Str., design and construction time – 2012-2016, the author of the project: Pyrohova Alla Vladyslavivna – chief architect of the project Ltd. “Modern”), and a private domestic building letter “A” and reconstruction of a domestic building letter “B” on 10, Shevchenka Str., design time – 2006, 2013 and construction time – 2013, the author of the project: Kovtun Hanna Valentynivna – chief architect of the project, chief architect of the projects for PJSC “Kirovohradmiskbudproekt”).
   Nomination “decorative and applied arts"is represented by works in the sphere of professional art ceramics by Kulinich Larysa Oleksandrivna – a member of the National Union of Masters of folk art of Ukraine, senior lecturer of fine art and design subdepartment of the department of painting and graphic art of Art faculty of Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after VolodymyrVynnychenko, and by the series of vytynanka installations “Search of existence” (Creative projects “Slavic existence” and “Virtues”) by Achkasova Mariia Vladyslavivna – a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, head of community organization “Art-prostir”.
   The exhibition was opened by head of the department of regional development, town planning and architecture of Regional State Administration, deputy head of contest committee of the award V.V.Kulikova. Other members of the contest committee also delivered a complimentary speeches – chairman of regional organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine L.V.Khramova, chairman of regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine A.V.Khvorost and head of regional department of Ukrainian Heraldry Union, Merited Architect of Ukraine, freeman V.Ye.Kryvenko. All of the speakers noticed a high level of performance of the displayed architectural objects and decorative and applied works, which brightly represent creative Kirovohrad region, in full reflect all aspects of the development of modern town planning and fine art in Ukraine and are worthy of the award named after an honoured townsman, one of the creators of architectural icon of the centre of our town.
   Lecturers of the department of painting and graphic art of Art faculty of Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko Art History PhD O.I.Kyrychenko and Pedagogical Sciences PhD L.V.Harbuzenko also visited the presentation of the exhibition in order to support their colleague L.O.Kulinich, who actively makes desktop and empirical research of historical traditions of folk ceramics of Kirovohrad region, introduces traditional techniques of pottery in modern Ukrainian decorative and applied art, and the graduate of their educational establishment M.V.Achkasova, whose work they characterized as the one presenting basic principles of Ukrainian national tradition of vytynanka and promoting urgent topics on history of Slavonic culture and universal human values.
   Town dwellers and guests can visit O.O.Osmerkin Art-memorial Museum and not only have a look at the interesting exhibition, but also join a public discussion by leaving their feedback that will be taking into account by the members of the contest committee, who after evaluating all the arguments, will objectively compare the represented works and choose a laureate of the award. The awarding will traditionally take place on July 1 on Day of Architecture of Ukraine in the memorial hall of the museum.
